Natural Gas Conservation Tips

Inspect and Maintain natural gas burners often to reduce usage from 2%– 12%
Lower the thermostats – each degree can reduce usage by 3%
Program temperature controls to coincide with occupancy schedules
Shut off nonessential equipment and spaces
Repair and Maintain insulation – up to ¼ of total heating system fuel costs can be attributed to thermal losses from piping, valves, and equipment
Lower water heater temperatures to no higher than 120 degrees and increase the insulation around the tank and pipes
Set refrigeration temperatures to 38 to 42 degrees and make sure the doors seals tightly
Invest in energy efficient windows, doors, and equipment
Use reduced flow faucet aerators
